New Artist Rita Ora Reveals Album Details in Video Diary
Meet Roc Nation artist Rita Ora, who is introducing herself to the world through a video diary where viewers also have the chance to hear her song “R.I.P.”
Rita may look familiar to you. She made an appearance in Jay-Z’s “Forever Young” video and Drake’s “Over” video in 2009.
The 20-year-old London, England resident moved from Yugoslavia (now known as the Republic of Kosovo) after she was born, and in her video diary she gives a tour of her neighborhood in Notting Hill, shows pride in her Kosovo heritage, and talks about what can be expected from her debut album.
“I’m so excited for this album to come out, you have no idea,” she said in the video. “I’ve been working on it for two whole years, and I’ve been working with some amazing people, like Chase & Status, Stargate, Tricky Stewart, The-Dream, will.i.am, and Drake, the list goes on. It’s an amazing album. I can’t wait for you to hear it, and I’m so honored to be working with them.”
The singer is dedicating her career to her native country of Kosovo.
“It was hard growing up when I was younger ‘cause I moved from Kosovo, and I wish I was around my people. I think Kosovo, as a nation, we’re very proud of where we’re from. It’s such a small place, so anyone that succeeds from there is just a big deal. So I’m doing this for my family and for my country as much as anyone else.”
Rita was signed to Roc Nation in 2009. Her debut album has not been given a release date, but expect to see and hear a lot more from the budding singer.
