Cynthia Bailey Goes On Model Search
Former supermodel Cynthia Bailey and her fashion school, The Bailey Agency School of Fashion, will be embarking on a five-city model search to provide young talent (ages 13 and up) with the resources and education needed to succeed in the fashion industry.
The search will begin in Cynthia’s home state of Alabama and will continue on to Charlotte, Nashville, Jackson, Miss., and New Orleans. Cynthia and her team of judges are said to be looking for girls that have “it.”
“I feel like the south has less access to the possibilities of getting discovered by scouts,” Cynthia said. “It was very difficult for me getting discovered. I really didn’t have a lot of information about the business, and I definitely didn’t have any real access to figure out how to get into the business.”
The women that are chosen during this model search will be taught the entire supermodel package such as education and ambition.
Cynthia says of the model search, “It’ll be a two-day seminar. The first day will be the model search. For that day, we’re just looking for someone who has the look of what it takes to be a model. The second day is the seminar process, and they will get an opportunity to talk to industry professionals—photographers, bookers, agents, hairstylists, makeup artists. If I hadn’t had the ambition and courage to leave my little, small city in Alabama and go to New York City, I think my life would have been very different. I know that one choice led me to where I’m at right now.”
If you’re interested in participating, you can register at CynthiaBaileyModelSearch.com. A finalist from every city will have the opportunity to walk the runway at the final showdown in Atlanta. The final winner will get a $10, 000 cash reward, a contract with a modeling agency, and a photo shoot with Derek Blanks.
