Online Shoe Boutique about More than Just Style
Emily A. Miller-Bishop has always had a love and passion for shoes.
From this passion, she created the slogan, “Let Your Shoes Do the Talking,” which means an awareness of shoes and their ability to speak volumes about a person’s character and style. Bishop also used her love of shoes to fuel her desire to operate a black-owned business that not only makes a profit, but a difference.
She started an online boutique, B-Shop (www.b-shoponline.com), which has an ultimate goal to generate enough revenue to supply those in need with shoes. With each pair of shoes customers purchase, a portion of the proceeds will go to supply shoes for others. Bishop’s vision is to provide new shoes to the homeless and women who are trying to re-enter the workforce.
Because B-Shop is an online business, it can reach those all over the world. Bishop wants to expand with storefronts in her home state ofMississippi, and eventually branch out to other states. In honor of Emily’s mother Emma, who was a “shoe connoisseur,” B-Shop has plans to go into the homes and hospitals of those who are focused on style but are unable to come to the storefronts.
To Bishop, her online boutique B-Shop, is more than just a business, but an idea how a new pair of shoes can help any person walk into a new way of living.
