Selita Ebanks is a model best known for sporting lingerie and swimsuits down the runway, but she is now taking her talents behind the scenes as designer of her own swimsuit line.

The former Victoria’s Secret angel spoke to The Cut about the inspiration behind her swimsuit collection and the designing process.

“I just feel like a woman should be able to go from the pool, the yacht, the beach, straight to dinner with her boo and still be fabulous and chic,” she said.

Her collection will include cover-ups, accessories and shoes. There isn’t a name or a launch date set, but Ebanks has been working at mastering the craft of swimsuit design since she isn’t formally trained.

“There’s a long process of learning, you know, what a dart really is, hems, fabric and testing things out—trial and error,” Ebanks explained.

Ebanks may have gotten bit by the designing bug after several years of modeling those covetedVictoria’s Secret swimsuits.
